Historique :	Le mécanisme est installé dans la tour nommée "tour de l'Horloge" depuis 1897. Elle servait de tour à péage jusqu'au 18e siècle mais, après la crue de 1828, elle a été reconstruite en 1832. La tour est surmontée du campanile en fer forgé avec girouette qui soutient la cloche, et un cadran est installé sur sa façade. L'origine et la datation du mouvement sont indiquées au dos de la grande détente. Il s'agit d'un mouvement de Paul Odobey à Morez (Jura) daté de 1897 et conservé dans son meuble d'origine. Le mouvement a été restauré en 2013 et réinstallé dans sa tour. Il s'agit, avec le mécanisme de Chanac, de la seule horloge d'édifice toujours en fonctionnement sur le département.
