Historique :	Le bâtiment, abritant la Bibliothèque municipale de Marvejols, était autrefois la Caisse d’Épargne. Cette très belle construction de l'architecte mendois, Joseph Ignon, a été réalisée en 1905. L'horloge installée en 1912 a été commandée et installée par l'horloger marvejolais Martin Lunel dont le nom figure sur le cadran de contrôle. La marque de la fabrique, le modèle et la date figurent au dos de la grande détente : "L.TERRAILLON / & / J.PETITJEAN / MOREZ (JURA)" à droite verticalement "79" et, à gauche, la date "1912". Le mécanisme, préservé dans un meuble et entretenu par Monsieur Noël Jouve horloger, est en excellent état et peut fonctionner.
