Description :	Le mécanisme repose sur un cadre rectangulaire. Les pièces de fonte qui constituent les largeurs, ornées de moulures, comprennent les pieds avant et arrière. Les longerons qui forment les longueurs sont fixés par des boulons aux largeurs. Ce mouvement présente la particularité notable d'être doté d'un troisième train de rouage permettant la sonnerie des quarts d’heures. La sonnerie des quarts possède son propre poids moteur, son volant d’inertie mais aussi un ensemble de détentes et un râteau. Par ailleurs, l'observation du cadran de réglage (ou de contrôle) montre que la fixation des aiguilles est faite par un écrou papillon. Le carillon du toit possède trois cloches. Le mécanisme est présenté au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment et n'est plus dans les combles.

Historique :	Le mouvement a été installé dans l'hôpital Théophile Roussel au moment de sa construction au cours de la seconde moitié du 19e siècle. Comme l'indique le cadran de contrôle, cette horloge a été fabriquée par Arsène Cretin l'Ange à Morbier dans le Jura.
